Description
EYEDRA, Cyclopean (variant Hydra)
Huge Dragon-like monster with multiple ‘Eyeball’ heads
28mm scale miniature perfect for D&D Pathfinder, or other tabletop games.
Sculpted by: Andrew K. Barlow Painted by Erica King & Andrew Barlow |
The Cyclopean Eyedra is characterized by its 3 large crocodile-like mouths that take the place of more traditional hydra heads. It makes up for lack of eyes on its heads by having one large central eye opening on the front of its giant, trunk-like body. Powerful magical eyebeams make the front half of this monster very dangerous, while the back of the monster is armed with prehensile tentacle-like tails. These Eyedras are intelligent, and have been known to use the magical weapons it collects as treasure, wielding them with its tails.
The Eyedra prints in several pieces, making it easier for smaller printers and providing easier cleanup, though some super-glue will be required for final assembly.
Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm Heroic scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They include Pre-supported versions and unsupported versions (in case you want to alter the size to suit your own needs).
The Cyclopean Eyedra was featured in my first kickstarter, Tentacles & Eyeballs. It is available as a pewter and resin kit on my website at dark-platypus.com. The original model has since been scanned, digitally enhanced, and made available here as a 3D-printable model!
