A genetically-engineered Dragon-cat hybrid model for 28mm games.

Project D.R.A.G.IN. (Designer Reptile Against Ground Infantry) was a giant 25’ long and 12’ high mistake made before the disaster. Named “DRAGIN” because of its resemblance to the fantasy beast, DRAGIN is the result of someone mixing a house cat with horned chameleon and chemical X, producing a huge lizard with catlike behavior. DRAGIN is stealthy, has armored chameleon skin, and cat like reflexes. As well, DRAGIN naps frequently, loves catnip, and toys with his prey, as would any feline.

The DRAGIN model prints in 6 pieces on resin machines, and the body has been pre-hollowed to save on resin. On FDM machines, the single-piece DRAGIN model can be used (supports will be needed).

Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They are also designed to stand up to actual tabletop use: no ridiculous spindly bits that look awesome but are going to break the first time someone sneezes. Paintability and ease of assembly are also important concerns to our design aesthetic.

I sculpted DRAGIN  for use in our Gen Con/Origins Mutant Crawl Classics adventure scenario ‘The Rats of GIM’, and the model was also made available for 3D printing for the kickstarter of the same name. As a result of that kickstarter, The RATS of GIM module is available on DriveThruRPG. DRAGIN is a showcase encounter in the adventure module, and having the model can make an already exciting encounter absolutely insane!
